About Us

Inception of SLP Samaj (UK) commenced in mid 1970’s when many of our community members were displaced and arrived in the UK at the time of 1972 exodus from Uganda. This was particularly important as there was thriving Samaj in Uganda. IN 1981 first directory was produced as activities grew from strength to strength for next 30 years bringing culture and community spirit within the membership. Momentous changes have taken place in the past 40 plus years where generations formed, ideas developed, community prospered and technological revolution has taken hold. In the new millennium, UK received new migration of Saurashtra Leuva Patels from Gujarat of young and educated, as news spread of SLP Samaj (UK), membership has escalated. This injection of new blood has given a boost to Samaj growth. Events like Navratri celebrations, Diwali gatherings and other social events have taken hold once again to bring the community closer and increase the bond of belonging.

This is a brief introduction of SLP Samaj and the rest is history in the making.
